Personal Profile

Peng Zeng received his Bachelor's degree in Environmental and Ecological Engineering from Chongqing University under the supervision of Professor Yongchuan Yang, and his Ph.D. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Environmental Planning and Management from East China Normal University, supervised by Professor Yue Che. During his doctoral studies, he was funded by the China Scholarship Council to study as a joint Ph.D. researcher at the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning, Utrecht University, the Netherlands, under the supervision of Professor Marco Helbich.

His research interests focus on multiscale studies of blue–green spaces and ecological planning, as well as urban extreme climate assessment and climate adaptation planning. To date, he has published 37 peer-reviewed papers, including 13 as first author (7 in Q1 journals and 4 in Q2 top journals, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal classification system), and 1 as corresponding author (Q1 journal). His Google Scholar profile reports an h-index of 17 with 1,466 total citations, and seven of his first-authored papers have been cited more than 30 times.

He currently leads one industry-funded research project. During his doctoral studies, he was selected to lead the university-level "Outstanding Doctoral Student Academic Innovation Capacity Enhancement Program" (awarded to only one student per year at the school level). He has also contributed as a core team member to projects funded by the National Key R&D Program of China, the Major Science and Technology Program for Water Pollution Control and Treatment, the United Nations Development Programme, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
